Winners of the GlobeSt Influencers in CRE Tech awards are chosen for their impact on the industry through technology and innovation. Upflex CEO Christophe Garnier makes the list for 2023.
Upflex and co-founder, Christophe Garnier has been honored as an Influencer in Commercial Real Estate Technology by GlobeSt.
In evaluating applicants for the prestigious annual GlobeSt. Influencers in CRE Tech awards, GlobeSt. Real Estate Forum sought CRE professionals that are leveraging smart, new technology to help companies manage modern businesses and adapt quickly. The 2023 winners, including Garnier, are CRE industry changemakers who offer innovative, next-gen technology solutions for real estate. This year’s winning companies and individuals were selected based on industry contributions, milestones and successes, and best practices introduced to the business.
“Commercial real estate’s technology stack has spread to include areas that just a few years ago would have seemed unthinkable, at least in this space,” GlobeSt wrote in their award announcement. “Upflex’s technology has been particularly valuable in the wake of the pandemic as hybrid work, the Great Resignation and the digitization of the workplace have changed the needs of companies in the built environment.”
In his role, Garnier leads day-to-day operations, ensuring that Upflex’s mission to inspire new workplace dynamics and provide businesses with the flexibility to address their changing workspace needs is reflected internally and within the company’s global customer base. Under Garnier’s leadership, in early 2022, Upflex launched a strategic partnership with WeWork, giving Upflex clients exclusive access to WeWork spaces around the world, followed by a raise of $30 million in Series A funding with backers including WeWork, Cushman & Wakefield, Newmark, and Ecosystem Integrity Fund.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by GlobeSt. as an influencer in commercial real estate technology,” Garnier said in a press statement. “At Upflex, our goal is to provide our customers with a suite of workplace solutions that empowers them with the insights and data to grow and scale globally. The world is in a new era of work where flexibility is a core part of every organization’s return to work plans, and we’re so pleased to be part of that conversation.”
As of February 2023, Upflex’s network has grown to more than 10,000 spaces (including desks, meeting rooms, private offices, and even luxury airport lounges), from approximately 1,200 leading flex space brands worldwide. The network spans more than a thousand markets across 135 countries. This global company also has a global team, with employees in more than a dozen countries.
Upflex was founded in 2018 by Garnier and CPO Ginger Dhaliwal. Today, global corporations, including Willis Towers Watson, HH Global, and Schneider Electric, and leading tech firms, including Snowflake, Alation, and HighSpot, leverage Upflex’s technology and solutions to facilitate their hybrid workplace strategies. Upflex also powers major brokerages’ flex space platforms, including Colliers Mobility Pass and Newmark Optality.
